Holiday House Decoration Contest – Reminder

Last week for you to vote on the best decorated house!!!

You have until December 26th to vote for the house in Champlain Park with your favourite holiday decorations. Everyone can vote, big and small!

To vote email Nick at xenosn@yahoo.com this week with the address of the house that you think has the best decorations.

The house with the most votes wins a 50$ gift certificate to any business in West Wellington. The prize was generously donated by the West Wellington BIA.

Community Bonfire Wrap-up

We had our third and well attended Community Bonfire this past Saturday. The weather was a nice +4C and sunny – the move to later in February was a good choice.

Community Sleigh Ride Tonight – Reminder

Just a reminder that the sleigh ride starts tonight at 6pm for small children, 6:30 for everyone else. Santa suggests you dress warmly! See https://champlainpark.org/2019/12/06/community-sleigh-ride-december-19/ for details and the map.

Also, once Christmas is done, you can bring your natural Christmas tree to the baseball diamond backstop fence for the winter carnival (wind break) and February’s community bonfire (combustion!).

Playground Flooding Warning

Champlain Park is constructed on part of the Ottawa River’s old flood plain. This can affect the rate of storm water drainage during heavy rains. Therefore, we suggest that our residents also exercise caution around the wading pool, play structure and in any low-lying areas.

Tales and Tunes at the Library – July 7

Saturday, July 7: DON’T MISS Tales & Tunes: Family Fun Day at the Library!

Join the fun on Saturday, July 7 for a free, family-oriented event featuring Fred Penner, other musicians, artists, and activities – brought to you by the Ottawa Public Library.

With storytelling, music, dance and art workshops, crafts, an Escape Room, maker activities from the Imagine Space, face painting, balloon animals, games, a gardening station, a community art mural, Tales and Tunes offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Tales and Tunes is free, and will take place Saturday, July 7 from noon to 5 pm at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive (and Nepean Centrepointe branch of OPL) – inside and outside, rain or shine.
