Membership Application

The Champlain Park Community Association membership has some recent important changes.

The online membership drive now runs continuously from May 1 to April 30 (a membership is good until April 30th) and we will announce the beginning of the new membership year in the Champlain Speaker.

Instead of a door-to-door campaign, residents are asked to pay the $20 fee via e-transfer and we’ve added a cheque drop-off payment option (see below).

So, how do I join?

  1. You can e-transfer the $20 annual fee via Interac™ to: financescpca@gmail.com with the contact name Champlain Park Community Association. Include your name and street address in the Message area. Autodeposit is enabled; if you don’t get that message please delete and re-enter the contact.
  2. You can drop off a cheque payable to Champlain Park Community Association in the mailbox at 183 Carleton or 251 Keyworth (in an envelope marked Membership). Please make sure your name and address is on the cheque.
  3. In addition, use this link or the handy QR code to sign up to provide contact information for each person in your household joining the CPCA. (Note: Please fill out contact information for each voting member of your household, but we only request one e-transfer of $20 for your address). This step serves as the data collection/update function as we have no canvassers this year, so it’s important!

  4. If you need help becoming a member, please contact the Membership Coordinator at financescpca@gmail.com.

What does the association do? It works hard on many fronts to enhance and protect our community, under the guidance of an elected board of directors. (All volunteers!)

How will your $20 be used? To support CPCA activities, such as:

  • Halloween events.
  • Christmas sleigh ride for kids.
  • Winter carnival in January.
  • Coordinating events like theatre and yoga in the park, star gazing, an online chess tournament and contests with prizes.
  • Coordinating rink maintenance and funding some equipment.
  • Scheduling field house activities, from classes to private parties.
  • Enhancing our natural green space (ski trails, pollinator garden, tree plantings).
  • Keeping us secure through Neighbourhood Watch.
  • Presenting on planning and zoning issues.
  • Supporting our community’s concerns at City Hall.
  • Working with other communities on shared issues.
  • Keeping you informed through our website https://champlainpark.org/, delivery of the Champlain Speaker paper newsletter, and Twitter @ChamplainPark

Membership also gives you access to field house rentals, and voting rights at the Annual General Meeting on issues that impact you and your neighbourhood.
