Good morning,

My name is Mimi Golding. I am a volunteer with the Goldenrod Community Garden. It is a new community garden slated to be built on NCC lands just north of Tunney’s Pasture (off Goldenrod Driveway and Parkdale Avenue).

The Goldenrod Community Garden has applied for a Gardens for Good Grant. We need your help and support to help us bump our messaging for voting for this grant. We are hoping you can add our message request to your communication channels.

Nothing says spring like the beginning of baseball – Join the first ever Champlain Park Baseball Pool! It’s free and low-maintenance, to enter:

  • Pick one position player from each of these positions: 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, Catcher, (5 players total)
  • Pick 3 outfielders

Position players get 1 point for each steal, run, homerun, RBI

  • Pick 1 pitcher – pitchers get 5 points for each win and 1 point for each strikeout
  • Pick a team – each team win gets 2 points

Want to join the Champlain Park Chess Ladder Tournament?

Then you will be added to the bottom of the ladder and you can start challenging other players. Season ends May 1 and then the top 4 will go to the play-offs to crown the neighbourhood champ.

Bookings available now for eligible residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine

Bookings are now available for COVID-19 vaccinations for some Ottawa residents. For more information, visit: http://ottawapublichealth.ca/80PlusVaccine.

Pending vaccine availability, vaccinations will be rolled out in the coming weeks to more neighbourhoods where residents are at the greatest risk of COVID-19.

To confirm that you are eligible for vaccination, please visit Ottawa Public Health’s COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Screening Tool.

Residents of all ages who are not yet eligible for the vaccine are encouraged to follow announcements on the City of Ottawa and OPH websites and social media channels, and from your local news media to learn when they can receive their vaccine.

Watermain Break on Northwestern

There’s a water main break on Northwestern between Pontiac and Cleaview that will affect service for some. They’ve got a 4:30 pm estimated repair completion time on that.
