Camp Awesome – July 25
Camp Awesome! (July 25 – July 29, 2016)
Kitchissippi United Church (630 Island Park Dr. behind the Royal Ottawa across from Westgate Mall). This week long day camp offers a fun-filled program for children 4 to 12yrs. Program includes outdoor play, stories, songs and crafts. Camp runs from 10am to 3pm. Before and after hour care also available. Halloween Volunteers Needed!
Have you ever planned a kids’ party? Then you have just the skills we need!
The Annual Champlain Park Halloween Kids’ Party needs an adult organizer and a group of volunteers to help out.
It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s a great way to meet all your neighbourhood ghoulies and ghosties! The time commitment is minimal and the benefit to your community is enormous.
(psst – all you high school students take note – this is a great way to gain your volunteer hours too!)
If you are interested in leading in organizing the party, volunteering to be part of a committee of organizers, or willing to help out with baking or running activities please contact Carol Arnason at carol.arnason@ocsb.ca.

RAH (Recreation Association of Hintonburg) free Soccer program starts again on Friday Sept 25th, younger kids from 6 to 7pm and older kids 7 to 8pm. Coach Martin will assess which class to attend based on the child’s age, size and abilities!
Also Open Gym Basketball 8-10pm for youth ages 14 and older.
Both at Connaught School Gym on Friday Sept 25. Show up and register!

The Annual Champlain Park Halloween Party (celebrated without interruption since the dawn of time) is in desperate need of an organizer!!!
If the party at the Fieldhouse is to go on someone or some group of parents need to step forward. The time commitment is minimal and the benefit to the community is enormous.

Wading Pool Special Event – Tuesday July 22
Vanessa (one of the city staff at the park) has an update:
The special event has been rescheduled to Tuesday July 22 because of the weather on last Tuesday.
The theme is space and there will be lots of activities and crafts and a slip and slide.
The city has a full listing of all Wading Pool Special Events on their web site.
Elmdale Public School’s Annual Bookfest 2014 – February 20, 21
BOOKFEST 2014!
The Elmdale Tradition Continues, Feb. 20-21.
Bookfest, Elmdale Public School’s annual second-hand book sale, is an opportunity to get a great read for yourself while supporting the education of Elmdale’s kids. There are more than 20,000 donated titles for children, adults and everybody in between, all at low, low prices. Come and take advantage of the enormous selection at the book sale, cake raffle and bake table. Funds raised at Bookfest 2014 are used to support Elmdale Public School.
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 20, 3:45pm to 8:30pm, and Friday, Feb. 21, 10:00am to 7:00pm
WHERE: Elmdale Public School, 49 Iona Street (just east of Island Park Drive. Entrance to BookFest is off Java Street. Follow the signs)
