FOUND: During Halloween trick or treating, someone found a pair of binoculars in our driveway. They are the portable kind that fold up and can be put in a leather case on your belt. The brand name is Tasco.
Please call 613-728-1945 to claim or drop by 197 Daniel Avenue.
Thank you.

Message from the Hampton Iona Community Group:
Think about the qualities that drew you to live in Hampton Iona. What made this part of Ottawa a place in which you wanted to live, raise a family and retire? How do you feel about the way your neighbourhood is developing now? What concerns you? What excites you? How do we retain the qualities that make this a special part of the city in which to live, while dealing with issues such as intensification and opportunities such as the LRT?
Come and join us on October 18th for a “big picture” conversation concerning the future of our corner of Kitchissippi Ward. With significant new development, infill and changing transportation systems, Hampton Iona and the rest of Kitchissippi Ward will look significantly different in 10 or 20 years. How can we have a voice in what our future will look like? What role can citizens play in designing our neighbourhoods and city; and coping with change? How can we make sure that our social and physical infrastructures keep pace with our population growth?

I have a small number of Bur Oak saplings grown from seed of the oldest and biggest trees in our neighbourhood. The saplings are direct descendants from the ancient oak forest viewed by Champlain in 1613 and that lined the Ottawa River following the last great Ice Age. Contact me if you have a plantable spot and would like to establish one of these trees.

Subject: Volunteer Shout-out – Westboro FUSE 2017
Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2017 11:46:43 -0400
From: Executive Director <executivedirector@westborovillage.com>
Hi Everyone,
As you probably know, this year, Westboro FUSE will be held August 26 & 27th, the last end-of-summer event, (and a very exciting one, btw), in what has been a very eventful Canada 150 summer!:)
If you would be so kind as to get the message out to your constituents, letting them know we are now actively recruiting event volunteers for FUSE 2017.
The previously mentioned craft fair has been cancelled due to lack of vendors. They’ll try again next year.
Subject: missing garbage can

From: tk
Someone took my 9 Litre (small sized) galvanized steel garbage can from my front lawn on the eve of garbage pick-up (evening of 11 May). It has a blue metal cord attaching the lid to the can and my address written in sharpie on the side. Grateful if anyone with information could contact me by return e-mail.
Regards,
TK
