Garden Club – November 11

Hi Gardeners:

The next meeting of Champlain Park Garden Club is Tuesday, Nov. 11th, 7:00 p.m. at the fieldhouse in Champlain Park.

Ottawa Master Gardener Candace Dressler will discuss plants that are native to the different eco-regions of North America. Her emphasis will be on Ontario natives and how to use plants tags to determine if a plant is native to the Ottawa region.

Craft Show – November 22

Holiday Craft Show Nov 22 / Goods / goodies!

The annual Holiday Craft Show is scheduled for Saturday November 22, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

You’ll find jewelry, pottery, art cards, soaps, lotions, cashmere scarves, hand-knit/sewn goods and delicious seasonal baking. There’s sure to be a Christmas gift for someone!

Happy Halloween

On behalf of the Champlain Park Traffic Safety Committee, I would like to remind everyone that the little ones will be out and about this evening trick or treating. Please look out for them so everyone has a safe and fun time.

  • If you absolutely need to take the car, I would like to remind you that the speed limit is 30 km/h everywhere in Champlain Park and please obey the traffic signs. Be extra vigilant for ghouls, monsters and princesses on our streets.
  • If you don’t need to take the car, consider walking to take in the great decorations in our neighbourhood, but you still need to be aware of ghouls, monsters and princesses, this time for your sake….mewwwwahahahahaha.

Hybrid Meeting by Google Meet or in Person

This will be a hybrid meeting, both virtually and in person at the Fieldhouse. Please e-mail champlainpark@gmail.com with subject “Meeting Link” for access to the video conference.

If you want to vote or just show your support for our efforts, please get a membership. Resident Members (live in Champlain Park and joined CPCA) can run for election and vote. Any resident member can run for any position, in advance, or at the AGM. One Member at Large position is reserved for new members.

Agenda items are limited to 5 minutes unless otherwise requested.

This is a meeting of the CPCA Board of Directors. Champlain Park Community members are welcome to attend, if you would like to propose items for discussion, to ask questions, to organize an event or activity, or to learn more about the issues affecting our community.

Activities and Issues must fall within our community plan/areas of operation in order to be addressed by the CPCA. You can write to the webmaster champlainpark@gmail.com to request a link to join the meeting and/or to connect you with the appropriate Board member for information and guidance including how to submit a Community Project Proposal.

Kichi Zìbì Mìkan Weekend Closures – October 18, 24

Traffic Impacts this Weekend and Next

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train project, the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan will be fully closed in both directions from Carling Avenue to Island Park Drive on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, October 18 starting at 5:30 am until Sunday, October 19 at 6:00 pm
  • Friday, October 24 starting at 11:30 pm until Monday, October 27 at 5:30 am
