Membership Drive Continues

The Champlain Park Community Association is continuing its annual membership drive, with some important changes.

Instead of a door-to-door campaign, residents are asked to pay the $20 fee via e-transfer and we’ve added a cheque drop-off payment option (see below).

We have about a quarter of the neighbourhood’s households joined so far, which is a great start. We would like to add more members to our list.

Annual Membership Drive Goes Online

Use e-transfer, handy QR code to sign up/pay up!

The Champlain Park Community Association is launching its annual membership drive, with some important changes.

Instead of a door-to-door campaign, residents are asked to pay the $20 fee via e-transfer and use the QR code on this page to help submit members’ contact information.

What does the association do? It works hard on many fronts to enhance and protect our community, under the guidance of an elected board of directors. (All volunteers!)

How will your $20 be used? To support CPCA activities, such as:

  • Coordinating events like theatre and yoga in the park, star gazing, Winter Carnival, an online chess tournament and contests with prizes.
  • Coordinating the rink, and fieldhouse activities.
  • Enhancing our natural green space (ski trails, pollinator garden, tree plantings).
  • Keeping us secure through Neighbourhood Watch.
  • Presenting on planning and zoning issues.
  • Supporting our community’s concerns at City Hall.
  • Working with other communities on shared issues.
  • Keeping you informed through a website https://champlainpark.org/, Twitter @ChamplainPark and delivery of the Champlain Speaker newsletter.

Membership also allows you to vote for CPCA representatives at the Annual General Meeting.

Ideas or questions? We encourage residents to attend the AGM (late Fall date) or write to the webmaster champlainpark@gmail.com to connect with the appropriate person.

So, how do I join?

  1. You can e-transfer the $20 annual fee to: financescpca@gmail.com with the contact name Champlain Park Community Association. Be sure to include your street address in the Message area to help us keep track of payments.
  2. In addition, use this QR to provide contact information for each person in your household joining the CPCA.

Membership Drive 2022 – A Few More Volunteers Needed

Urgently needed: Volunteers

Thanks to those who have already contacted me.Β  But we still need an additional 4-5 new canvas volunteers to assist with the membership drive.

It’s a fun and easy way to meet more neighbours.

What’s involved: a few hours of your time (usually late afternoon or evening or on weekends).

Visit about 20 houses on a designated street in the neighbourhood to collect fees and provide neighbours with a one-page handout that highlights the various activities of the Association.

Our canvas volunteers are the core of our Champlain Park Community Association fundraising efforts. Revenues collected enable a variety of community association activities.

If you are able to help or want more information, please contact: Jennie Hornosty (membership coordinator) at email: champlainpark@gmail.com with the subject line: membership drive.

Membership Drive 2022 – August 20 to September 30

We are returning to our annual Champlain Park door-to-door membership drive this year.

Cost: per household: $20 (Preferably cash or cheque – with an option for e-transfer)

This helps us support the various community events (sleigh rides, fun runs, Winter Carnival, bonfire and more), community projects (like gardens and forest work) and raise our voice in response to changes from the city and developers. Members also get a vote at the AGM.
