Sunday December 1st at 1:00 p.m.

(it will only take about an hour )

Bring your garden gloves and hand garden snips and you’ll make a wreath using 5 fresh evergreens with ilex berries on a grapevine wreath.

Champlain Park’s AGM this Thursday – 2013

Champlain Speaker AGM Oct 2013Just a reminder that the Champlain Park Community Association (CPCA) annual general meeting will be this Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the Champlain Park Fieldhouse. More details (including the agenda) are in the previous post and they’re also listed in the paper flyer (available as a PDF file) that was posted around the neighbourhood.

Treasurer Position Vacant. Volunteer Urgently Needed.

Description:

  • Executive position.
  • No Book-keeping required, as we have a volunteer who does the day to day banking, cheque-writing and journal entries.
  • Interface between book-keeper and executive when large expenditures are required and for financial planning (of a simple nature).
  • Preparation of Financial Report for AGM. We have a retired accountant to advise us.
  • Accounting skills helpful but not required.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets.

Volunteers have put their names forward for all positions except Treasurer.

However, all positions can be contested. Most positions can also be shared as there is always plenty to do. All committees welcome new members. We also have an executive position called “Member at Large”. This allows people to be on the executive without a specific “portfolio” and to contribute in a variety of ways as per your interests.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Champlain Park Community Association (CPCA) is co-ordinated by a dedicated team who spend their volunteer time and energy focused on enhancing the lifestyle and quality of life for neighbours living in the Champlain Park community.

The CPCA provides information through our website and periodic newsletter,  organizes meetings,  events and social activities for various age groups, follows issues relevant to the neighbourhood and helps to foster a sense of community .

Everyone is welcome to come out for an interesting evening to find out what’s happening in our neighbourhood and to learn how to stay in touch for any future events and developments.

We encourage people to bring a blanket, lawn chair and the whole family to experience a once-in-a-blue-moon experience.
