Westboro Holiday Food Market - Flavours of OttawaDear Champlain Park Community Association,

I am organizing an upcoming event in Westboro called: Flavours of Ottawa: Westboro Holiday Food Market.

The event will take place at the Westboro Masonic Hall at 430 Churchill at Byron on Saturday, December 14 from 10 am to 3:30 pm. It will include over 20 Ottawa based artisan vendors who make items such as: macarons, chutney, tortiere, baked goods, tea, jams, chocolate, and black garlic to name a few. A few of vendors live in the Westboro neighbourhoods and many of the vendors were at the Ottawa Farmers Market this past summer! Also the sponsors are local- Emulsify, Diane and Jen (Royal LePage brokers) and Kitchenalia.

This event is a one-stop-shop for all your holiday food and gift giving needs. You can also pick up a curry lunch at the Relish Food Truck.

We are trying to spread the word about the event to people living in the Westboro communities and I hope that you can help us do that as I understand the Champlain Park Community Association is excellent at communicating!

I have attached for more information our poster that you can post on your website, email to your community members and distribute via social media.

Please let me know if you have ANY questions.

Many Thanks

Nicola Maule

Great Gift Ideas

Looking for an inexpensive gift? Friends of the Farm offer the perfect solution – two informative and entertaining books for the naturalist or historian on your Christmas list. “For the Love of Trees” celebrates the heritage collection of trees in the Central Experimental Farm Arboretum. “Ottawa’s Farm” is about the men and women who lived and worked at the Farm during its first hundred years. Both are available on site, 613-230-3276, www.friendsofthefarm.ca

Leaf Raking?

I’ve received a couple of requests from people looking for help with leaf raking. If you want to do that sort of odd job, you may wish to be in our list of people available for work. We have babysitters, garden workers, house sitters, dog walkers and if there is demand we can add other categories like Tutors. Just hunt through the Activities menu at the top of every web page to find the service listings appropriate to your need, or ask us.

Hello,

I live at 193 Keyworth and got home last night at about 3am and found a bicycle in “the middle” of Keyworth.
If anyone lost a bike off the back of their car (all I can imagine), please have them reach me by e-mail.
