Draft Official Plan Open House – September 29
On October 14th, a new Draft Official Plan for Ottawa will be presented to the Planning Committee. This Plan is substantially different in orientation from the current OP. It directs a major amount of intensification to the communities in Ottawa’s north end and will have a significant impact on how infill development will occur during the next 25 years. From across Ottawa, community groups and organisations came together to review the Draft OP. The attachments developed by this “People’s Official Plan” collaboration, outline the conclusions resulting from extensive analysis and provide a concise summary of what needs to change before a new OP will be ready for adoption.
As part of the public engagement process, Residents are invited to join City Staff at a Public Open House on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. to learn more about the new OP.
Please register for this meeting here.
Please submit your questions here.
Thanks, Heather

TASTE of Wellington West 2021 – September 21 to October 31
Our nearby neighbours are having their food festival this fall over several weeks. There’s even a calendar to keep all the action straight. Local neighbour Dennis Van Staalduinen, who runs the Wellington West BIA, appeared in an Ottawa Citizen interview on the event.
Their description from https://wellingtonwest.ca/taste-returns-for-2021/:
TASTE of Wellington West is back again for another year of modified festivities to showcase the very best flavours and features of our beautiful neighbourhoods in Hintonburg and Wellington West. As always, we are using this annual festival as an opportunity to raise money for our charity partner, The Parkdale Food Centre.
This year we will have an exciting combination of both virtual and in person events showcasing the food, art and fun of Wellington West. Visit our TASTE 2021 webpage for more details on all these festive features and more to come.

Just saw a large coyote this morning in the Champlain Woods while walking my small dog. Not aggressive but a decent size. Heads up to all residents with small dogs or children.
Thanks
