Subject: Thanks to Organizers for Awesome Sleigh Ride Event!
Date: Fri, 23 Dec 2016 12:02:04 -0500
From: Carol Arnason

Many thanks to organizer, Jim Cocks, for once again building community spirit with the Christmas Eve sleigh ride. Best Christmas wishes to Tom Sauve and family for arranging Santa’s surprise visit to distribute candy canes at the Sunnymede stop. Thank you to Kelly Egan, Alex Smith, Adrian Bradley, and Jeanette Rule for advertising the event. Thank you to Dennis Van Staalduinen for leading our carol singing en route. Thank you to Olivia and Katie Bolger for preparing and serving hot chocolate. Thank you to Bridgehead for hot chocolate supplies. Many thanks to all the volunteer bakers in our neighbourhood for donations of holiday treats. Thanks to the Champlain Park Community Association for sponsoring the free sleigh ride.

The comment from our Costa Rican guests was: “We have nothing like this in Costa Rica -no community associations!” Merry Christmas everyone and see you at the CPCA Community Winter Carnival on Saturday, January 28,2017.

Christmas Sleigh Ride – December 22

Horse and sleigh ride

All Aboard ! The annual sleigh ride is back!

What a great way to start the holidays!

The sleigh is currently scheduled to depart:

From: The Fieldhouse
When: 6:15pm – 8:00pm
Date: Thursday, December 22, 2016.

We’ll update the status on the website if there are delays due to weather or other problems.

If the horses are unavailable, we’ll just meet at the Fieldhouse for a party.

Weather permitting, the plan is to have the horse-drawn sleigh gliding through the neighbourhood starting at around 6:15 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

We hope to have carols along the way and may even work in a stop at a place reputed to be the local hideout of Old St. Nick.

Please feel free to bring Christmas cookies or snacks for sharing at the party.
