Walkability Audit for Albert and Scott Streets – May 25

Last fall’s audit was discussed in a previous post.

Last Pedestrian Safety Walkability Audit, Albert and Scott Streets

Anyone available to help either at 2 pm or 4:30pm on Monday, May 25 – we only have 1 person confirmed. Please let me know if you can help.
RSVP: cheryl.vance@sympatico.ca

Monday May 25 – 2 pm for Albert St and at 4:30pm for Scott St.

We partnered with the Council on Aging and Good Companions Senior Centre to pilot an all season Pedestrian Safety Walkability Audit of Albert and Scott. The last audit is scheduled for Monday May 25. As in the past there will be 2 parts – Albert Street and Scott Street.

We plan to meet at The Good Companions for a 2 p.m. start along Albert Street, and at the Tom Brown Arena for a later start at 4:30 p.m. along the Scott Street route – on Monday, May 25th. If you can join us for either or both of these audits please let us know.

On the Scott St side a number of sidewalk hazards were identified and sent to the City in the first audit. Those sidewalk/trip hazards have just recently been marked in orange paint for repair.

The widening of Scott St. is expected to start soon – perhaps in May. The contract for the work should awarded soon.

The collected data from three Ottawa neighbourhood walkability audits will be part of an All-Seasons Pedestrian Safety Report developed in partnership with Ecology Ottawa.

Hope to see you there. Please RSVP so we know how many people we will have.

Cheryl
