September 23^rd– Friends of the Farm Tree Tour at 10am Blgd 72, Arboretum. Citizen Science: How to Document Trees. Tour leader Owen Clarkin will focus on how and why to document trees to the family, genus, and species levels for scientific/conservation databases, emphasizing techniques in photography. Missing Cat

Help find missing Monte !!

Have you seen this cat? He’s been missing since Friday, Aug. 24 from a house on Daniel Avenue near the corner of Clearview. Monte is very friendly and affectionate. He is a black, short-haired and has a tiny bit missing from the top of one ear. He will come if called. A reward is available. Any sightings, please call or text Suzanne at 613-301-1949. Treasure Sale for Be the Choice – August 12

Our family has recently moved into 202 Northwestern Ave. We love it here!

We are holding a “treasure sale” on Sunday, August 12th from 8-2. We are raising money for an organization called Be the Choice (http://bethechoice.org/) that helps breast cancer patients navigate the treatment path. It’s new, it’s innovative, and it’s making a change for the better for patients and their families.

We’re also open (and hoping) for donations, so anyone with anything to give is most welcome to leave it in front of our garage anytime before Sunday morning.

Theatre in Our Park, Tonight! – Reminder

The weather forecast looks good (not too hot, not raining until after midnight), so tonight is a good night to come and see William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night performed by A Company of Fools in our park, starting at 7pm.

Come see William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night performed by A Company of Fools in Champlain Park (Clearview and Cowley Ave), starting at 7pm on Friday August 3rd.

Our community association will be sponsoring snacks and drinks for a Meet and Greet immediately after the performance.

Please bring your own lawn chairs or blanket. Be aware that no alcohol is allowed in the park.

Je fais appel à vous et à votre association communautaire pour vous parler d’un programme élaboré par Ecology Ottawa et Park People : « Les Amis des Parcs ». Fondé par le gouvernement de l’Ontario, « Les Amis des Parcs » a pour but d’assister les communautés francophones dans la célébration de leur culture ainsi que dans la mise en valeur des espaces verts et des parcs.

Le samedi 16 juin (voir les détails de l’événement ci-dessous et dans les pièces jointes), nous organisons notre premier forum francophone qui a pour but d’aider les résidents intéressés à obtenir toute l’aide nécessaire pour organiser un événement. Nous aborderons tous les sujets cruciaux pour la planification d’un événement, tels que la publicité autour de ce dernier, la levée de fond, ou encore le renforcement des capacités organisationnelles. Cet événement a lieu pour aider les personnes expérimentées comme les débutants.

Forum Francophones des Parcs d’Ottawa 2018 – 5 Mai

Bonjour,

Ce week-end (voir les détails de l’événement ci-dessous et dans les pièces jointes), nous organisons notre premier forum francophone qui a pour but d’aider les résidents intéressés à obtenir toute l’aide nécessaire pour organiser un événement. Nous aborderons tous les sujets cruciaux pour la planification d’un événement, tels que la publicité autour de ce dernier, la levée de fond, ou encore le renforcement des capacités organisationnelles. Cet événement a lieu pour aider les personnes expérimentées comme les débutants.

Je suis persuadée qu’il y a de nombreux francophones au sein de votre communauté, et il serait formidable que vous les informiez de cette opportunité, et du programme en général. Nous vous serions grandement reconnaissants si vous pouviez communiquer autour de l’événement.

Fletcher Wildlife Garden Native Plant Sale – June 2

The plant sale will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, located off Prince of Wales Drive south of the Arboretum.

The Fletcher Wildlife Garden is run by volunteers for the enjoyment and education of all Ottawa residents. It is open for everyone to walk the trails, enjoy the beautiful garden, our newly developed pond area, and to learn about native plants. Our Annual Native Plant Sale is an opportunity for people to buy local plants and learn which ones are suitable for their own garden.
