Election of Officers and Call for Volunteers:

  • You can ask to be nominated for any of the listed positions.
  • Names of current nominees are listed on the chart. Most are current executive members who are willing to stay on.
  • However we are actively seeking new board members.
  • Some positions can be shared, as there is always plenty to do. For example, we have 2 Co-Chairs.
  • We also have an executive position called “Member at Large”. This allows people to be on the executive without a specific “portfolio” and to contribute in a variety of ways as per your interests. Some of our current board members started as Member at Large and then “specialized”.
  • Please see the CPCA organizational chart to get some ideas of how you might contribute if you are interested in becoming an executive member or non-executive volunteer.
  • If you are thinking of joining the executive/board in the future, attending some of our open executive meetings (advertised on our website) is a good way to familiarize yourself with the work of the community association.

To be added to the slate of executive/board member nominees for the election, contact CoChair1 CPCA, at champlainpark@gmail.com

Please provide: Name, Position/area of interest

Also see the Community Plan for a description of our activities. Contact the listed co-ordinator if interested in a specific volunteer area.

Christmas Sleigh Ride – December 22

Horse and sleigh ride

All Aboard ! The annual sleigh ride is back!

What a great way to start the holidays!

The sleigh is currently scheduled to depart:

From: The Fieldhouse
When: 6:15pm – 8:00pm
Date: Thursday, December 22, 2016.

We’ll update the status on the website if there are delays due to weather or other problems.

If the horses are unavailable, we’ll just meet at the Fieldhouse for a party.

Weather permitting, the plan is to have the horse-drawn sleigh gliding through the neighbourhood starting at around 6:15 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

We hope to have carols along the way and may even work in a stop at a place reputed to be the local hideout of Old St. Nick.

Christmas sugar cookies. The evening should wrap up at the Fieldhouse, where there will be hot drinks and treats.

Please feel free to bring Christmas cookies or snacks for sharing at the party.

Jim Cocks, 613-728-7881, has very generously donated his time, yet again, to organize the event.

If you’re able to volunteer any time with set-up, cleanup, treats or hot chocolate, please let Jim know at email jim.co@sympatico.ca (One can never have too many elves!)

Please call Jim at (613) 728-7881 asap for details or email him at jim.co@sympatico.ca. We thank-you in advance!

For reference, here’s a PDF of the copy of map.
Please appreciate that the map is only an approximation of the route.
