On display and for sale will be high quality used and vintage cashmere sweaters and scarves and designer handbags. Several vintage clothing dealers will be hand. Expect to also find knitted hats and scarves, exquisite chocolates and other tasty sweets.

And wait! There’s more, including some antiques.

Marcella Winship Obituary

Marcella Winship, a longtime resident of Clearview Avenue (near the corner of Patricia), has died in Magog, Que., at the age of 84. She is remembered fondly by neighbours as a kind, thoughtful person who was very engaged in community life, just as she was proudly enthusiastic to be Canadian. Condolences to her husband David and three children and good friend Amy (Steele) Kempster. Please see the attached notice on ottawacitizen.com. The service is Saturday, with visitation on Friday.

It will also act as a beacon that will inspire young women; reflect Ottawa’s rich diversity; encourage city commemorations of women; and, promote local initiatives and organizations that recognize the positive value and impact of these women to our city, to our nation and/or globally.

Femmes remarquables Ottawa Distinguished Women is a collaborative volunteer initiative currently comprised of over 30 community leaders from various cultural communities and backgrounds with a shared passion for creating a lasting legacy and conduit for recognizing the outstanding contributions and professional achievements of exceptional women in Ottawa.

Attached is a Nomination Form along with an information sheet related to Eligibility and Criteria. Please feel free to nominate as many outstanding women that you feel deserve recognition.

Since the trail is funded and run by volunteers, they need to raise the money to keep it running (gasoline, snowmobile repairs and that sort of thing) this winter. Playback Theatre – September 27

You may not know that Champlain Fieldhouse is the home rehearsal space for Ottawa Playback Theatre. Playback theatre offers interactive performances in which personal stories from audience members are transformed into theatre on the spot by a small troupe of actors & musician. It’s sometimes called “Improv for Real Life.”

On Friday the 27th of September our theme is “Harvest Time— what has ripened in your life? What are you harvesting?”
