Goldenrod Community Garden Plot Waitlist 2022 – ALERT

Goldenrod lost all the names/data on our waitlist around the end of September 2021. Anyone on that list must sign up again.

Please sign up by going to Goldenrod Garden’s homepage and clicking the link for Plot Waitlist 2022.

Everyone is welcome and we do apologize for this. Please know that this list is not “first-come-first-served”. We will be pulling names at random when it’s time to assign plots for next year.

TASTE of Wellington West 2021 – September 21 to October 31

Our nearby neighbours are having their food festival this fall over several weeks. There’s even a calendar to keep all the action straight. Local neighbour Dennis Van Staalduinen, who runs the Wellington West BIA, appeared in an Ottawa Citizen interview on the event.

TASTE of Wellington West is back again for another year of modified festivities to showcase the very best flavours and features of our beautiful neighbourhoods in Hintonburg and Wellington West. As always, we are using this annual festival as an opportunity to raise money for our charity partner, The Parkdale Food Centre.

Big Trees and Mechanicsville Promoting Trees vs Embassies

Mechanicsville Community Association and Big Trees of Kitchissippi invite you to make your voice count in efforts to say YES to more trees and No to embassies at the NCC Burnside property on the Ottawa River in Kitchissippi Ward.

First, send a video message (hug) to Councillors and Federal Ministers before Earth Day next week, using this simple video platform: https://app.vidhug.com/yes-to-trees-no-to-embassies-/HyZ-FoNL_/record

Use your phone, or record directly on the platform, indoors or (preferably) outdoors to say Yes (and No).

Second, sign this petition calling on the City of Ottawa and NCC to honour their commitments to addressing the climate emergency, by saying Yes to more trees on the site, and No to embassies:  See Petition
