Champlain Park Planning and Zoning Document Archive Now Online

The Planning, Zoning and Environmental Policies Committee invites you to check out our new public-facing Google Drive folder. This folder will be regularly updated with new material as we continue to address the big-picture issues that have an impact on Champlain Park. The most recent files address the impacts of the new Official Plan and the ongoing development of the new Zoning Bylaw.

Everybody Welcome

Board meetings will have an open session for community residents to observe business discussions. Non board community members will also be invited to participate at certain times by the chair and there will be “in camera” topics for the board members only. If you are interested in organizing an event or activity, or addressing an issue or concern, you are welcome to come to a meeting to discuss it further. You can also write to the webmaster champlainpark@gmail.com who can direct you to the correct board member.

Everybody Welcome

Preamble: This meeting is an orientation session to start off the new year, to welcome, and introduce everyone to each other and to the community members who may be in attendance.

We will cover a number of items related to how CPCA conducts business, protects the public and volunteers through insurance, incorporation and risk management, and our duties as a corporate non-profit. Members of the community are welcome.

You will learn more about these essential business topics that support our other activities like our Social activities (Rink, Halloween, Winter Carnival, Holiday Sleigh Ride etc.), Beautifying our community through Planting, Community Clean-Up and Participation in many Municipal Issues. These business elements are essential to CPCA retaining its corporate status and to remaining in good standing with the City and other external organizations.

Champlain Park Winter Trail Donation

A thank you note via Kris for the Kìchì Sìbì Winter Trail people:

On behalf of the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail, I send a sincere ‘thank you’ to the CPCA for its generous donation to the Winter Trail this year. Without your support, the Trail wouldn’t be as successful as it is today.

Nick Xenos, on behalf of the Champlain Park Community Association (CPCA), presents a $500 donation to Cheryl Caldwell, President of the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail (KSWT) Board, and Trail Manager Dave Adams. The CPCA has been a proud and dedicated supporter of the KSWT for the last several years. The KSWT, a registered not-for-profit and charitable organization, is mainly funded by donations from private citizens, as well as through some local business sponsorships, and modest grants from its partners – the City of Ottawa and the National Capital Commission.
