The CPCA Board makes financial and other types of decisions as “a collective” through Community Project Proposals (CPP) and specific motions. None of the board members have the authority to make decisions or to allocate monies independently.

The Role of Directors on the board is: To carry out corporate and business functions (finances, insurance, governance, membership drive, meeting agendas, minutes and other documentation etc.) and to provide oversight and coordination in our areas of operation (see the community plan).

The Committee Chairs must be Directors, but volunteers who are not board members are welcome to contribute to the work of any committee. Contact the webmaster, who will connect you with the appropriate director.

Election process:

  • Anyone can put their name forward for any position above (email champlainpark@gmail.com for more information, in advance of the AGM preferred)
  • people can also put their names forward at the AGM
  • if more than one person puts their name forward for a position then an election would take place for that position at the AGM (each candidate would have 2 minutes to present then would go forward to a vote)
  • people who put their names forward and anyone who votes needs to be a member (see https://champlainpark.org/membership-drive/ to join)

  • Social Event lead volunteers
  • Our representatives at the FCA, K9, and other groups
  • Volunteers for all else: newsletter, web, members of committees, etc…
