A number of Kitchissippi Community Associations report that residents have found discarded syringes in their neighbourhoods. The reports are broadly based, with some homeowners even having found needles on their own properties. Please report immediately to the NCC or the City (and c.c. the CPCA Board for our information) if you see discarded syringes.

NCC lands discarded syringe pickup:


Incidents of discarded needles on NCC lands can be reported to us in multiple ways:

  • During regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5pm, you can call 613-239-5000 (follow the option to speak to an information agent) or email us at info@ncc-ccn.ca.
  • After-hours, on weekends and statutory holidays, you can call our 24-hr emergency line at 613-239-5353.

Reports are immediately sent to our maintenance team for prompt removal.

City of Ottawa discarded syringe pickup:

Report to the City’s 3-1-1 line; and,
Report to Ottawa Public Health at needlereporting@ottawa.ca Provide:

  • Your name and contact information
  • What was found
  • How many
  • The exact or closest address to the pickup location
  • The date of the pickup
