The Post-Incident Neighbourhood Support Framework is a guide to how communities across Ottawa can engage community leaders and service providers to coordinate support and resources to neighbourhoods impacted by violent or traumatic incidents (also referred to as a critical incident).
The Framework is intended to aid in reducing distress and restore cohesion, and ultimately reduce fear, assist in recovery, and build community resiliency.
The goals of the training session are to provide you with further details including:
· Overview of the 6 steps of the Post-Incident Protocol
· Learn the best trauma-informed practices to respond to an incident
· Participate to a simulated post-incident protocol activation exercise with your community partners
The session will be presented by a staff from the Victim Crisis Unit and the Post-Incident Protocol Project Officer at Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre. It will be a formal training and you will have opportunities to ask questions.
Please fill out the doodle poll and more information on time and location will be sent to you ASAP.
