Subject: Contacting the police

Hi Everyone,

I have had a few people complain lately about getting through to dispatch with the new phone system and that it is not as user friendly as being reported. That a few people are feeling discourage and are choosing to just not call the police.

I wanted to remind you that Ottawa Police does want to hear from you and that if you have any complaints at all they need to be report to us. This way we can improve the phone system and provide a better connection to who you need. I also wanted to remind people that if you are seeing something happening like someone checking car doors it’s actually a crime in progress and 911 can be used.

On our web page we have a list of frequently asked questions that refer to on line reporting that you may find useful so I will attach the link.

I also wanted to let you know that you can directly contact me and I will look into a specific situation for you, but you can also contact our Customer service with these complaints. Please do keep me in the loop though.
