Subject: FW: [New post] Crime Alert/ Theft From Vehicle
Hi guys,
Not sure if you have signed up to at https://www.onwec.com/ if not I would recommend it because they do send out some good info. Since I have been away unfortunately we have been getting an increase in theft from vehicles and I want to promote to people the All Valuables Removed Card. Our hope is that if nothing of value is seen in the car the thief will carry on especially if the door is lock. We do have some opportunist that will search a car regardless if they find it unlocked though. The other type of theft we are finding are those where a window gets smashed just so they can see what is hiding under a blanket or in a gym bag. Of course there have been many people stating that they locked their door but were broken into w/out damages so as seen below this is a current trend.

I have some yellow AVR card in my office and can drop some off for anyone or they can print it from the web link above.
Reminder to make the report online even if nothing was taken to allow Ottawa Police to track the incidents allowing us to direct our attention where it is needed. Also consider calling in a suspicious person call crime in progress if you see someone checking car doors.
Take care
Dawn
