In other news, there’s a service available for redesigning public spaces with an eye towards crime prevention. From https://onwec.com/2017/02/21/cpted-crime-prevention-through-environmental-design/

Hi All

Please forward to your BIA’s, Community Associations
My name is Constable Matt Hunt and I am the new CPTED coordinator for the Ottawa Police.  CPTED is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.  Proper design and effective use of space improves the quality of life for the community and can assist with crime prevention.  We offer a free service where we conduct an audit of your space (retail, condo, library, school, etc) and suggest ways it could be made safer.  We will provide you with a copy of the audit and a follow-up call in six months to see how things are going.  For more information of to book an audit please contact me directly at 613-236-1222 ex. 2319 or huntm2@ottawapolice.ca.
