Upcoming Green Homes Showcase

The Green Homes Showcase – opening the doors of unique “green” Ottawa homes to the public – is taking place on September 28th, 2013 from 12 to 4 PM at exclusive locations all across Ottawa. The ten featured homes highlight the latest green technologies and upgrades to increase home comfort and durability, sustainability and resale value.
Examples include:

•  Passive solar design
•  Solar heated pools
• Geothermal systems
• Sustainable flooring, cabinets, and countertops
• Solar blinds and screens
• LED lighting
• Insulation and air sealing
• Fibreglass windows
• HRVs and tankless water heaters

Attendees will be guided through the green renovations in each home and also have the unique opportunity to speak directly to homeowners, energy advisors, building professionals and contractors.

From 160 year old farm houses near Kemptville to infill developments in Hintonburg, The Green Homes Showcase has something for everyone.

Best of all, the event is free and gives participants access to 10 unique homes and dozens of professionals in one day.
